Call for Presentations: Kolloquium des Instituts Praktiken und Theorien der Künste am 19. November 2026

Das Institut für Praktiken und Theorien der Künste (IPTK) befasst sich mit ästhetischen Praktiken und Medien im Kontext gesellschaftlicher Entwicklungen. Es ist spezialisiert auf die transdisziplinäre Erforschung künstlerischer Praktiken im Bereich der Fine Arts und der Performing Arts und widmet sich gesellschaftlich orientierten Fragestellungen in den Bereichen der künstlerischen Forschung, Kunstvermittlung, auditiven Kulturen und künstlerischen Selbstkonzeptionen.

Seit 2017 veranstaltet das IPTK jedes Semester das „IPTK-Kolloquium“. Dabei berichten Promovierende, weitere Forschende und Künstler:innen des Instituts über ihre laufenden Forschungsarbeiten. Alternativ werden externe Gäste eingeladen, um relevante Themen im Zusammenhang mit künstlerischer Forschung und Forschung an Kunsthochschulen im Allgemeinen zu erörtern.

Das kommende IPTK-Kolloquium am 19. November steht allen Forschenden der Hochschule der Künste Bern offen. Eine solche interdisziplinäre und methodische Öffnung scheint in einer Forschungslandschaft, die komplexe gesellschaftliche, ästhetische und technologische Fragen verhandeln möchte, notwendig zu sein. Sie soll u. a. dazu beitragen, den fachlichen Austausch und die Netzwerke innerhalb der HKB zu stärken sowie Kooperationen anzuregen.

Entsprechend richtet sich der „Call for Presentations” an Forschende aus allen Forschungsinstituten der HKB. Eingeladen sind Promovierende, Postdocs sowie weitere Forschende, die ihre laufenden oder abgeschlossenen Projekte vorstellen und zur Diskussion stellen möchten.

Ziel des Kolloquiums ist es, Fragestellungen, Methoden, theoretische Ansätze und künstlerische Vorgehensweisen, Forschungsprozesse und offene Fragen sowie ggf. Ergebnisse bezüglich der jeweiligen Vorhaben zur Diskussion zu stellen und so einen fruchtbaren, gegenseitigen Austausch und eine kritische Reflexion zu fördern.

Die Präsentationsformate sind frei wählbar: Vortrag, performative Formate, Gesprächssettings etc., und erfolgen in Form von 30-minütigen Beiträgen mit anschliessenden Fragen und Diskussionen.

Vorschläge für Beiträge (max. 500 Wörter) sowie ein kurzer Lebenslauf sind bis zum 17.08. 2026 einzureichen an: fabiana.senkpiel@hkb.bfh.ch.

The Institute for Practices and Theories in the Arts (IPTK) investigates aesthetic practices and media in the context of social developments. It specializes in the transdisciplinary study of artistic practices in the fields of Fine Arts and Performing Arts and addresses socially oriented questions in artistic research, arts education, auditory cultures, and artistic self-conceptions.

Since 2017, the IPTK has hosted the “IPTK Colloquium” every semester. At these events, doctoral candidates, researchers, and artists affiliated with the institute present their ongoing research projects. In addition, external guests are invited to discuss topics relevant to artistic research and research at art universities more broadly.

The upcoming “IPTK Colloquium” on November 19 is open to all researchers at the Bern Academy of the Arts. Such an interdisciplinary and methodological openness appears essential within a research landscape that seeks to address complex social, aesthetic, and technological questions. Among other objectives, it aims to strengthen scholarly exchange and networks within HKB and to encourage new collaborations.

Accordingly, this Call for Presentations is addressed to researchers from all research institutes of HKB. Doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and other researchers are invited to present and discuss their ongoing or completed projects.

The colloquium aims to foster productive exchange and critical reflection by providing a forum for discussing research questions, methods, theoretical approaches, artistic methodologies, research processes, open questions, and, where applicable, research findings related to the respective projects.

Presentation formats are open and may include lectures, performative and conversational formats, etc. Contributions should be 30 minutes in length and will be followed by questions and discussion.
